You know the feeling. It’s 3 AM and you’re staring at the ceiling. Or it’s the middle of a workday and your chest goes tight for no reason you can name. Or you’re standing in a parking lot with your keys in your hand and you can’t remember why you came, because a fear has grabbed hold and hasn’t let go for weeks.
Fear like that isn’t just an emotion. Scripture calls it a spirit, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). That means it can be resisted. It can be named. It can be prayed against, out loud, until it lifts.
